Volunteer

We are a completely volunteer run facility. There are no paid employees, so we survive and operate by the generosity of our volunteer's time and support of our sponsors and participants.
We are currently looking for people to assist with:
  • Cleaning stalls, refreshing waters, and feeding
  • Grooming, animal handling, and hiking
  • Fundraising
  • Facility maintenance and grounds-keeping
  • Grant writing
  • Weekly program assistance and special events

New/Basic Volunteers

This is where all our volunteers ages 18 and up will begin. The Volunteers in this group must have a supervisor on site. This level includes all new volunteers and those with up to three months of consistent volunteer work of 5-10 hours per month. At this level, minimum volunteer hours are not required.

Volunteers
The Volunteers in this group must have over three months of experience or 30+ hours here. A supervisor is not required once their ranch skills and operations knowledge have been evaluated and approved. They have additional options for volunteer hours.

Volunteer Staff
The Ranch is a completely volunteer run facility and there are no paid positions for staff or the Board of Directors.  We are currently looking for a Program Coordinator and Animal Care Manager.

Volunteers with Children
Volunteers are allowed to bring children with them on Open Ranch days. Whenever a minor accompanies a volunteer to the ranch, the child is the first priority and responsibility.  Child and volunteer MUST be together at ALL times.

It is our goal to provide a safe atmosphere for small children to experience animals. In order to do so, the animals must associate visitors in a positive light. Visitors of all ages must respect the animal’s wish to get away or not be touched.

The next New Volunteer Orientation is on Saturday, August 6th from 10-11AM.
